Tasked with providing a comprehensive overview of Soviet history — from the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 to the last days of the Soviet empire — as it was portrayed in Soviet cinema, Lorem Ipsum curated 52 films that provide visitors with an in-depth look into all aspects of life in the USSR.

“Labyrinth of Soviet History” exhibit and media installation at The Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

Broken into eleven distinct chapters, Soviet history is told through eleven montage sequences that immerse viewers into the atmosphere of each period.  

Plated into artifacts and other visual references, the montages serve as the main narrative element of the exhibit.

Each montage is projected onto a glass wall that separates the chapters but propels the visitor into the next period of Soviet history.
